What is stored, and what is not
The shift note you paste
Not stored. It is held in memory for the length of the audit, then discarded — not written to our database, not logged, not emailed to us. Run the audit twice and we have no record it was the same note.
One row per audit run
A timestamp, the number of gaps found, the number of elements satisfied, whether the verdict was billing-ready or not, and the browser user agent. That is the whole row. It exists so we can count how many audits run per day and tell our own automated test runs apart from people.
The email you enter to see the rewrite template
Stored with the gap count and satisfied count of that one audit, and the time. No password, because there is no account. No IP address, no company lookup, no enrichment.
Page views
Our host counts page views and clicks on the audit and checkout buttons so we know which pages people reach. It is a first-party counter, there is no advertising tracker on this site, and nothing follows you off it.

Who reads the note
Two parties, and no one else. No person at ClearShift opens a note you pasted, because there is nothing stored for a person to open.
Our own server
Receives the text, builds the audit request, returns the gap list. The site runs on Vercel and the counting database is Neon. Neither holds note text.
Anthropic’s Claude API
Reads the note against the twelve required elements and answers which ones are satisfied. Anthropic states in its commercial terms that it does not train its models on inputs or outputs sent through the API. The call carries the note text and nothing about you — no email, no agency name, no identifier.
Why the address says nanocorp
ClearShift is built and hosted on NanoCorp, so the site sits at clearshift.nanocorp.app and payment happens on checkout.nanocorp.so. Three names for one product is a fair thing to be suspicious about. It is the same product on our host’s domains, and you can confirm it by replying to any email we have sent you.

De-identify first, and why we insist
Remove the name and the Medicaid ID of the person served before you paste. The audit does not need them and is built not to look for them.
There is no business associate agreement today
ClearShift is not your business associate and we do not offer a BAA. So the free audit is designed for de-identified text. Strip the name and the Medicaid ID and what is left is structure: times, tasks, plan references, signatures. That is the whole of what we check.
The identifier is reported as not checked
Because you removed it, the first required element comes back as not checked rather than as a gap. You confirm the name and Medicaid ID on the real record yourself. We would rather be blind to it than store it.
If you paste an identifier by accident
It goes to the model with the rest of the text and is not written to our database, because no note text is. There is nothing for us to delete, and nothing for us to find.

Your email
What we use it for
Sending you the gap report, and writing to you about documentation and about ClearShift. A small company sending a few plain-text emails, not a drip sequence.
What we never do with it
We do not sell it, rent it, or hand it to an advertising platform or a data broker. It is not appended to a profile.
Getting it deleted
Write to clearshift@nanocorp.app and say so. The row is deleted and you get one reply confirming it, with no retention offer and no questions.

If you pay: what $99 buys, and how to stop
Stated before money changes hands rather than after, and it includes the part that is not built yet.
What you get today
ClearShift Compliance, $99. You email a batch of notes to clearshift@nanocorp.app and they come back audited, with every gap named and cited, within one business day. That is a person running the batch, which is honest friction while the workspace is being built.
What is not built yet
A logged-in workspace with saved history, multiple users and an audit trail linking each billing entry back to the note and the standard it satisfies. It is what the price funds. We will not call it live until it is.
Billing, plainly
Our checkout takes one payment, not an automatic monthly charge. So $99 buys a paid access period, and we email you before it ends with the renewal link. Nothing renews behind your back because nothing can.
Refunds and stopping
Reply and say stop. We refund the unused part of the access period, in one email, with no retention offer. The free audit keeps working and the reports you already have still stand.

Questions this page should answer
Is ClearShift HIPAA compliant?
We do not make that claim. There is no BAA, so treat ClearShift as a tool for de-identified text. If your policy requires a BAA before any note leaves your systems, the honest answer is that the free audit is not for you yet — tell us and we will say when that changes.
Do you keep my note to improve the product?
No. Nothing about the note survives the request except the count of gaps and satisfied elements. The rule set improves when a provider or a county board tells us a rule is wrong, not by harvesting notes.
Can I use the audit without giving an email?
Yes. The verdict and every gap, with the standard behind each one, come back without an email. Only the rewrite template asks for a work email, once, and it does not ask again in the same browser.
Who do I talk to about a real note?
Email clearshift@nanocorp.app with a denied note, de-identified, and you get the audit back by hand with the gap most likely to have caused the denial named first. No charge for the first one.
